A view of the country-side from the Norita Express toward Tokyo.
-
A TOTO brand electronic toilet in my hotel room with bidet and spray features.
These are great, I think I'm going to look at adding this back home in the U.S.
You can check them out at these URLs: http://www.toto.co.jp/en/, http://www.totousa.com

Night view from my hotel window in Yokohama overlooking the Sakuragicho train station.

Before leaving for Japan, I looked for info on street skate events.
Luckily I found some english sites (listed below) that gave me enough
information to find the "City Run" skate on Sunday morning in Tokyo.
I hadn't been on a group
street skate since London, so it
was nice to find one in Japan and I took my skates along.
-
In Ueno Park (Tokyo) about 9 AM waiting for the "City Run" skate to begin.
-
-
Matoba and me in front of Tokyo Station during the
City Run. A toast to my new friends... yes, that's a can of beer which is
sold at kiosks (and in some vending machines) and legal to drink on the street!
-
Tokyo Station
-
Matoba (and the rest of us) taking a break - it was very warm and
humid, which is usual for summer in Tokyo.
-
Near the Imperial Palace, I think.
-
More street scenes during the skate.
-
Near Hibaya Park.
-
Here's the whole gang (except the photographer) on the City Run skate.
I think they said that is their parliament building in the background.
-
Various photos along the skate route.
-
Yoriko and me. No, we didn't fall down. ;^) We are taking a break.
See the following links

The skate was great fun, and a great way to see the city and make new friends.

wej and me before the shopping begins.
-
wej looking a little dazed once we learn how much is here.
We ended up shopping Akihabara for 8 hours - until the stores closed!
-
An Akihabara street and "Pocari Sweat" vending stand.
Pocari Sweat is a popular replenishing sport drink.
-
An add on water massage contraption for the shower.

On Friday night after Akihabara, wej and I returned to Yokohama and visited
a nice restaurant for some appetizers and sake. Neither of us speaks
Japanese, so we finally conveyed our request by asking for "small food" ;^).
Then we headed to a bar along Isezaki Mall (a pedestrian street), passing
some elated Hansin Tigers (baseball) fans along the way. Lastly, we happened
upon the
Friday Live House for the Crazy Ken Band
and met some wonderful people enjoying the music there.

My not-so-spacious room at the Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel.
Actually quite nice and everything that one person needs.
-
Outside a pachinko gambling parlor... What a "Million God" Pachinko machine is,
I don't know.
-
At the entrance to Isezaki Mall in Yokohama.
A great street without cars for shopping, night-life, and street performers.
-
A last view of the bustling area near Sakuragicho station that was home for one week!
